E. Gaines Thomas, D.M.D.
Dr. Thomas, a specialist in Pediatric Dentistry, received his D.M.D. degree from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. He completed his residency and received his Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from the Children's Hospital Department of Pediatric Dentistry in Birmingham, Alabama in 1978. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University in 1972.
Dr. Thomas has been practicing Pediatric Dentistry in Mobile for over 30 years. He has held offices in numerous dental organizations including President of the Mobile Area Dental Society in 2000 and President of the Alabama Academy of Pediatric Dentistry in 1986 and 1999. He served as President of the University of Alabama School of Dentistry Alumni Association in 2004. In 2006, he received the Alabama Dental Association's "Most Excellent Fellow" award and served as President of the Alabama Dental Association in 2010. Dr. Thomas has served on the Board of Directors of the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry since 2002 and served as President of the Southeastern Society in 2013. He is a Fellow in the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Thomas is a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church where he has served on the Vestry and as Senior Warden. He served on the St. Paul's Episcopal School Board of Trustees and was Chairman of the Board from 2004-2006. Dr. Thomas and his wife Linda reside in Mobile and have three sons Gaines Jr., Wilson and Carter.
Lauren Moore, D.M.D.
Dr. Moore, a specialist in Pediatric Dentistry, received her D.M.D. degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry. She completed her residency and received her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from the Children’s Hospital Department of Pediatric Dentistry in Birmingham, Alabama in 2007. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Spring Hill College in 1999.
Dr. Moore is an active member of several dental organizations. She has held all offices in the Mobile Area Dental Society, serving as the first female President of the Mobile Area Dental Society in 2017. She is currently serving as Vice President of the Alabama Dental Association (ALDA.)
Dr. Moore is on the Board of Trustees of the Alabama Dental Association as well as the Council on Membership. She has served on and has been the chair of the Council on the New Dentist, for which she received ALDA’s “Outstanding Council Chair Award.” She has also served in the ALDA House of Delegates, has been the chair of the Credentialing Committee, served on the Reference Committee, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Alabama Dental Political Action Committee. She is a Fellow in the International College of Dentists, and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Alabama Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
She was also selected as one of Mobile Bay‘s 2014 Class of Forty under Forty.
Dr. Moore is a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where she is currently serving on the Vestry. She is active in her community and is a member of the Junior League of Mobile and the Mobile Rotary Club. Her greatest accomplishments are her two daughters, Claire-Burton and Kate.
Front Office Staff
Baylee is an Appointment Coordinator in our bussiness office. You will often find her smile greeting you at our front desk. Baylee graduated from Saraland Highschool and went on to attend Faulkner State Community College. She now lives in Satsuma with her husband / highschool sweetheart, their daughter Harlee, and two fur babies. In her free time she enjoys going to the beach, hunting, fishing and most of all spending time with family and friends.
Brooklynn has been working in the field of dentistry for over 5 years. She is currently a dental assistant at our office but plans to graduate in 2019 from the Alabama Dental Board to become a licensed hygienist. She attended Faulkner State Community College on a cheerleading scholarship. There she received her Associates Degree in Applied Science and was named the 2014-2015 Miss Faulkner State. She also attended the University of South Alabama and became a USS Alabama Crewmate. Brooklynn and her husband, Nate, are expecting their first baby boy in 2019. In her spare time, she enjoys teaching gymanstics, judging pagents, and spending time with her family.
Carina graduated from Alma Bryant High School in 2012. She then attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College on a soccer scholarship. Carina also has a twin sister named Corina. Her father originated in Mexico where she grew up learning how to speak both Spanish and English. Carina's hobbies are going to the gym, going out to eat, and spending time with her family. Carina has always had a passion for working with kids, and she is so thankful to finally have her dream job.
Christian has worked in the dental field for 5 years. She has landed her dream job working with kids as a dental assistant at Drs. Thomas and Moore Pediatric Dentistry. She is a mobile native who graduated from Theodore High School in 2012. After high school, she attended Faulkner State Community College and The University of South Alabama. She enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends. She has 2 energetic labs, and is now expecting her first baby in August 2019. She loves all the new friendships she has made at our office.
Elizabeth has been involved in the dental field since 2005. She started as a dental assistant before receiving her dental hygienist license through the Alabama Dental Hygiene program in 2012. She is always increasing her knowledge by attending continuing education classes in an effort to give her patients the best care possible. Elizabeth grew up and continues to live in Mobile. She loves to laugh and make others laugh! When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her son, family, and friends. She enjoys shopping and relaxing at the beach. She also likes to spend time contemplating whether to go to the gym or not.
Hannah is an Appointment Coordinator in our business office. She is from Fairhope, AL and graduated from Fairhope Highschool in 2014. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband Michael and their daughter Ryleigh.
Jennifer has worked with Drs. Thomas and Moore for over 20 years. She recieved her Certified Dental Assistant (C.D.A.) degree from Faulkner State. She is active with the Furrever Home Animal Rescue as a foster parent. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, fishing, white water rafting, and going to the beach.
Kayla has been working as a dental assistant for Drs. Thomas and Moore since 2017. She has an identical twin sister named Ashley. In 2013, she graduated from Theodore High School. After graduation, she continued her education at Bishop State Community College on a cheerleading scholarship. Kayla plans to attend the 2019-2020 Alabama Dental Hygiene program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham to become a hygienist for our practice. She loves working at a practice where everyone shares such a close relationship with each other. What she adores most about her job is working with kids! In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and eating crawfish.
Laureen is a dental assistant and our office coordinator. She moved here in 1995 from northern Virginia but considers Mobile her home! She has been working with Drs. Thomas and Moore for over 20 years. Most of her time is spent going to the gulf. She is married with 6 children and 9 grandchildren. So, yes, she loves working with children! She cannot imagine doing anything else!
Penny is the Business Office Manager. She has worked for Drs. Thomas and Moore for over 20 years. She is married and has one daughter, Kendall, who attends the University of Southern Mississippi. Go Golden Eagles! She also has two bonus children, Ryan and Haleigh. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, shopping, and spending time with her family and her fur-baby Gus.
Sandy has worked in the dental field for over 30 years. She received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Alabama and graduated from the Dental Hygiene program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Sandy has 3 children and 2 grandchildren. In her spare time, she loves anything water related including kayaking and paddle boarding. She also enjoys dabbling in various art mediums.
After working many years in the dental field as a dental hygienist, Shirley found her passion: working with children and making them feel as comfortable as possible in the dental setting. She strives to provide a happy experience for her patients at every visit! She is a graduate of Murphy High School and the Dental Hygiene Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She has 2 children and 2 grandchildren. Shirley loves art of all mediums, photography, gardening, and cooking. She also enjoys fishing, kayaking, camping, and spending time with her family, especially her two grandsons: Luke and Wyatt!
Siearra is a Mobile native who loves the Gulf Coast. In her leisure time she enjoys painting, paddle boarding, fishing and spending time with her German Shepherd, Molly. She has a passion for working with children and has been in the dental field since 2013. Siearra graduated from the Dental Hygiene program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and is a hygienist for the practice.
Tonya works in our bussiness office as the Financial Coordinator. She manages payroll and accounts receivables. She has worked in the field of dentistry for over 25 years and has worked with Drs. Thomas and Moore for over 10 years. She has 2 children and 2 precious grandsons. In her spare time, Tonya loves shopping and spending time at the beach in Destin.
Kayla is an Appointment Coordinator in our business office. She has a huge family and is from the small town of Notasulga, AL, right outside of Auburn. War Eagle! Although she is new to the dental field, but has been in the medical field for over 7 years. She recently moved to Mobile with her boyfriend, Reid, and their fur baby, Jax. In her spare time, she enjoys trying new restaurants, shopping, hanging out on the beach, and spending time with Reid and Jax.
Andrianna is a dental assistant in our office. She graduated from Baker High School in 2015. After high school, she attended Spring Hill College and Coastal Alabama Community College. Andrianna loves kids and is so grateful to get to work with them everyday! In her free time she likes to spend time with her fur baby, Richard, and relax by the pool.
